All courses are facilitated by competent professionals with post graduate degrees in Finance, Accounting, Law, Economics, etc with field experience in investment and securities market operations.
The facilitators have been trained under the Train the Trainer programme under the GISI-CISI collaboration, for the purpose of mentoring you through your selected programme. The facilitators will guide and prepare you for the examinations based on the course materials that would be made available.
Louisa Ampiah is a Financial Consultant and the Head of Research at SEM Capital Advisors Limited. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Finance from Loughborough University, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) from the University of Ghana. She has also taken and passed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level I Exam and holds a Diploma in French Language Studies, Level A1 and A2 from the French Ministry of Education.
Louisa has conducted several financial and economic analysis, commercial due diligence and provided business advisory services to various companies. She has also managed portfolios comprising of equity, local fixed income securities and Eurobonds. Louisa was a facilitator of the Ghana Stock Exchange Securities Course and taught Introduction to Securities and Corporate Finance. In addition to SEM Capital, Louisa has worked with institutions such as C-NERGY Ghana Limited, Ghana Police Hospital, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, 37 Military Hospital and Ghana Atomic Energy Commission.
Claver is a Chartered Management Accountant and a Corporate Finance specialist with over 15 years extensive experience in investment appraisal, banking, treasury, budgeting, financial reporting and risk management. These were gained working across breath of industries from scientific research, lecturing, and capital market to banking in Europe and Africa. Having worked in the capital market, he has gained valuable experience in the design and creation of financial instruments, valuation of financial instruments, financial data analysis and reporting. Claver also has a priceless experience in mentoring and coaching, a skill he acquired through teaching and training of industry practitioners and students.
Dr Raziel Obeng-Okon is a Financial and Investment Management Consultant by profession. He is the Founder/CEO of CIDAN Investments Limited and an Adjunct Lecturer of Public Accounting (Executive Masters of Public Administration Program) at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Prior to this position, he was the Head of Corporate Finance and Research at NTHC, Head of Corporate Finance and Research at Sterling Financial Services Group, Business Consultant with EMPRETEC and a Senior Financial Analyst with Databank Financial Services.
He is a Corporate Finance Expert who has consulted widely for both Government and the private sector. Dr. Obeng-Okon has over 24 years working experience in various fields including Economic Analysis, investment banking, Financial Risk Management and Consulting. He has been a board member of many companies but currently sits on the following Boards: Ghana Investment and Securities Institute; Universal Oil Company; Unique Life Assurance; and VITALITY Health Insurance.
Dr. Obeng-Okon holds a Ph.D degree in Business Administration with specialization in Financial Management from the Northcentral University, Arizona (USA); Master’s degree in Economics of Development from the Graduate School of Development, The Hague (Netherlands) and a B.A degree in Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is a member of the following Professional Associations: Licensed International Financial Analyst (LIFA) – USA and CANADA, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute, Virginia – USA; Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) – New Jersey, USA; Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI), UK; and the International Research Association (IRA), USA.
In many ways Dr. Suzy Aku Puplampu is adept in connecting-the-dots to find the right solutions for her clients, investors and associates. Currently, Dr. Suzy is the CEO and Wealth Manager at OctaneDC Limited - a Fund Management and Investment Advisory company, licensed by the SEC of Ghana. Suzy’s path in investment banking begun in the year 2004 when she joined Databank Asset Management Limited as an Investment Analyst. Rising through the ranks, she became Head of the Private Wealth Management Unit, in her promoted role as Vice President in the Unit. In that capacity, while providing leadership for her team within her main mandate, she additionally worked on mutual funds, institutional portfolios and pension funds. In 2011, Suzy assumed a new responsibility as Principal-in-Charge of wealth management at OAK Partners. Later, in a matter of three years, Suzy had been elevated to Partner, Wealth Management.
Then came 2017 when Dr. Suzy courageously incorporated and managed her own company OctaneSD Limited, a fund management and investment company. After two and a half years (2.5) years of operation, OctaneSD merged with Dalex Capital Limited and the two entities metamorphosed into OctaneDC Limited by November, 2019. By the year 2021, the total value of funds managed by Dr. Suzy stands at circa GHS400million for high-networth individuals, institutional clients and mutual funds. Pension fund portfolios were managed on collaborative efforts with teams and pension funds administrators.
As a facilitator/lecturer at the Ghana Investment and Securities Institute (GISI), Dr. Suzy Puplampu is in charge of courses at the Foundation and Professional levels of the CISI/GISI pathway of the Institute. She is also an adjunct lecturer with the Central University Business School teaching Investment Management and Accounting at level 300 and 600 respectively. Suzy is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACCA, UK), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI - UK). Dr. Suzy is an alumnus of Walden University, USA where she earned a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) degree in Wealth Management. As a foundation, she holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana, Legon; a BA in Economics and Sociology from the University of Cape Coast and an alumnus of Mawuli Secondary School, Ho.
For her corporate governance experience, Dr. Suzy currently serves as the independent trustee of the pensions and provident fund boards of Nestle CWA and Cocoa Board. In her previous life, she was the Board Chair of Galaxy Balanced Fund, a mutual fund business.
Suzy believes in continuous education. It is for this reason she is a member of Toastmasters International. In 2017, Suzy joined Toastmasters to sharpen her communication and leadership skills. And truly she has. She currently serves as the Division G Director for the 2021/2022 Toastmasters year providing leadership for fourteen corporate and community clubs in Ghana. She has also achieved the coveted Toastmasters education recognition: Distinguish Toastmaster (DTM), July 2021.
Suzy loves to give back. For this reason, she serves as a Business Mentor for Ashesi University. A mentoring program she has been on since 2018 offering one-one mentoring and job shadowing opportunities to the Business students of the University. Further, Suzy serves as a mentor to several Toastmasters, students, young executives drawn out of her social engagements, community and Church. As a consolidated effort, in collaboration with three of her close associates, Suzy founded and provides leadership for 4forGrowth, a mentoring platform for level 300 female students of all Universities in Ghana.
Dr. Puplampu is married. In her spare moments the mother of three blogs at suzydotblog where she publishes her writings and thoughts on finance and other social matters of interest to her.
William Mensah is an Investment Banker with over 15 years industry experience. He is an Investment consultant and currently a managing consultant of Lifespring Consult, a business and real estate advisory service firm. He is also a Non-Executive Director at NDK Capital and two public mutual funds; EDC Balanced Mutual Fund and Chairman of kiddiFund Mutual Fund. He additionally serves on the Advisory Board of Bora Capital Advisors. He is also Independent Trustee for tier 2 / tier 3 pensions schemes for MTN, Nestle Ghana, Goldfields and Mantrac. He is additionally a course instructor at the Ghana Securities Industry Course organized by the Ghana Stock Exchange and has been an Adjunct Finance Lecturer at GIMPA and Ghana Technology University College.
Prior to co-founding Lifespring Consult, he worked with EDC Stockbrokers Ltd, the stockbrokerage arm of Ecobank in Ghana, from 2004 to 2009 where he rose to become Head. He also worked as an Investment Analyst at Strategic African Securities Ltd from 2003 to 2004 where he started his career in the Investment Banking Industry. From late 2001 to 2003 he worked with the Department of Land Economy first as a teaching assistant and then as a research assistant.
He holds an Msc in Finance for Cass Business School, London and a Bsc in Land Economy from KNUST.
She is passionate about her life purpose which is helping individuals, families and Corporates to achieve financial and spiritual liberation through knowledge sharing.
Prior to co-founding Crescendo Consult Ltd, a financial advisory, executive coaching and consulting firm, Doris was the Country Director for ACCA GLOBAL and Vice President at Databank where she led financial advisory & Corporate Finance transactions, Macro-Economic & Equity Research and founded the Group's Pensions business currently worth over GHC1 billion.
She was on the team of advisors to Government of Ghana for the issuance of Ghana's third Eurobond raising $1billion on the international markets in 2014.
Doris serves as the Lead Consultant/Senior Financial Advisor, John. C. Maxwell Team Executive & Transformation Coach, Trainer & Speaker and DISC Accredited Consultant Coach at Crescendo Consult Ltd, sits on a couple of boards including as Chairperson for a SEC regulated fund and more recently as Facilitator for GISI-CICI.
Doris was recognized in 2017 as a Top 60 Corporate Woman Leader in Ghana and Women in Banking & Finance Personality respectively.
Augustina is an SEC licensed Investment Representative and the Portfolio Manager of SEM Capital Advisors Limited. She manages a portfolio of a diversified, multi-asset class including sovereign bonds, mutual funds, and stocks across several African countries.
Augustina is a member of SEM Capital’s management team. Prior to SEM Capital, she worked with Fiesta Royale Hotel as an Accounts Officer and at the Ghana Free Zones Board as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. She holds a BSc Mathematics degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and an Executive MBA (Finance) from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon. She is an instructor in Portfolio Management of the Ghana Securities Industry course organized by the Ghana Stock Exchange.
George Awuku Twumasi is an accountant by profession and has over 20 years’ experience in accounting, finance and investment. Until November 2019, George was the Senior Vice President, Finance and Administration of All-Time Capital Limited. George also had the opportunity to work with SEM Financial Group, Sikelele Health Care Ltd, The Capital Group Ltd and the High Street Journal. George has also been an instructor for Ghana Securities Industry course since 2007.
With his over 20 year’s professional experience in the financial industry, George has a profound understanding of accounting, finance, investment, administration, risk and other management issues. He is a highly motivated and innovative person with strong written and analytical skills, excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences. One strength that George can boost of is his ability to play with figures. He is well endowed in mathematics and quantitative methods and can use quantitative techniques to overcome complex problems in finance and accounting.
George holds a Bachelor of science degree in Administration with a concentration in accounting, an MBA in Accounting both from University of Ghana Business School and also a certificate in the Ghana Securities Industry Course. He is also a qualified Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. George has attended numerous courses and seminars within his over 20 years’ experience.
Caliis is a Lawyer and a Chartered Banker with over (17) years’ experience in teaching and practicing Corporate, Business & Securities Law. I am an effective advocate with rich practice experience before the Superior Courts of Judicature in Ghana. I am currently the Head of the Legal & Enforcement Department, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Ghana, having acted as Board Secretary and Secretary to the Approval and Licensing Committee of the SEC, Ghana. I joined the SEC in 2010 as Manager, Legal and Enforcement. I later became a Senior Manager in the Legal & Enforcement Department.
I am a member of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), a full member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and a Member of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association (CLA). I am currently Vice Chair of the IBA Africa Regional Forum, having held the position of Conference Co-ordinator for 3 years and Secretary-Treasurer for a year. I also serve on the IBA Securities Law Committee, Capital Markets Forum, Immigration and Nationality Law Committee and the Academic and Professional Development Committees. I have attended several conferences within and outside Ghana. I am well versed in securities law and have previously been a part time consultant to the Ghana Stock Exchange. At the academic level, I hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Ghana, Legon and Barristerat-Law (B.L) from Ghana School of Law.
I also hold a Master of Business Administration (Finance option) from the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS). I am an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB), Ghana and Notary Public in the Republic of Ghana.
Course manuals will be made available online to students. The course materials are sufficient for preparation towards the exams.

Lectures will be conducted online and recorded for future reference by students. The lecture notes are based on the course manuals.
Examinations shall be conducted online for the all GISI-CISI Qualification Pathway levels. Students in the Professional Level of the GISI Professional Pathway will also have their exams conducted online. Both groups will have to take the Legal and Regulatory Framework examinations online. Students will be guided in the selection of their examination dates.
We shall encourage students to endeavour to write their respective exams within a month after tuition. You can find the rules on examinations on view regulation. The venue for the participants in the GISI Pathway Foundation and Intermediate Levels will be communicated ahead of the examination date through their emails and on our website.
Candidates are to note that the pass mark for each course is 70%.

There are no exemption for students.Every level of the program is as important as the other. Students shall qualify to the next level after successfully passing their examination.
The securities courses of GISI are designed to upgrade the knowledge of professionals and experts in the securities industry. These courses are also aimed at equipping beginners with comprehensive knowledge about the structure, operations and regulations of the securities market.
The GISI has restructured the Ghana Stock Exchange securities courses. It now runs two stream of courses. Namely:
In each of the two programs, a candidate shall take four papers in all i.e. a paper at every level. A candidate shall be required to begin from the Foundation (GISI Professional Pathway) or the Basic (GISI – CISI Qualification Pathway) and proceed steadily through the pathway to the professional level after a pass in each of the levels.
