GCX and GISI Advance Plans For Commodity Trading Certification Programme

The management of the Ghana Investment and Securities Institute (GISI) and the Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX), led by Mr. Alexander Williams and Ms. Evelyn Abakah, respectively, engaged to conclude on the upcoming Certification Programme on Commodity Training (CPCT), to be organised by the GCX in collaboration with the GISI. The meeting, held on Tuesday, 7th April, centered on the programme’s commencement, enrolment and successful delivery. It also aimed to further strengthen the collaboration between the two institutions. Programme schedule Free Session (Open to All): 19th May, 2026 Paid Session: May 25 - June 8, 2026. GISI Meeting with Facilitators

The management of Ghana Investment and Securities Institute(GISI) led by Mr. Alexander Williams, on Wednesday 21st January, 2026 held at meeting with all course facilitators at the Lancaster Hotel Accra. The aim was to assess the 2025 training year and also take suggestions for the 2026 training year. The meeting was led by Mr. William Mensah. In attendance was Mrs. Diana Okine, Chairperson, Academic Committee, GISI. We are confident this meeting will translate into delivering excellent training for our students and for the capital markets.

PROGRAMME ORIENTATION SESSION WITH SIC FINANCIAL SERVICES LIMITED

At the invitation of the Management of SIC Financial Services Limited, an orientation session on the programmes of the GISI was held at their offices. The SIC-FSL was led Dr. Ibrahim Sa-ad, the MD of the company. The session was conducted by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Alexander Williams and Mr. Emmanuel Saisie, Head, Finance and Admin. Unit of GISI. The orientation introduced the courses of the Institute, the application processes and the need for compliance as a requirement by the Securities and Exchange Commission Regulations. The programme took place on Thursday, 22nd January, 2026 at the offices of the company with their branches joining online.

The Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX) and the Ghana Investment and Securities Institute Limited (GISI) are delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on education and professional development in commodities trading. The collaboration for the Ghana Commodity Exchange Certification Programme, is to prepare participants  towards fostering expertise and proficiency within the commodities market

Session with delegation from Capital Markets and Securities Authority, Tanzania

The Institute on Tuesday, 13th May, 2025 led by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Alexander Williams hosted a session with a 12 - member delegation from the Capital Markets and Securities Authority of Tanzania at the Securities and Exchange Commission during their study tour to Ghana. The objective of the study tour is to, among other things, equip the delegation with insights, lessons and best practices from the Ghanaian securities industry as the Authority sees to strengthen its institutional capacity in Private Equity and Venture capital to formulate sound regulatory frameworks in line with international best practices.
